Springs Theatre Company presents New Year's Eve Dinner Theatre fun with "First Night"

With the arrival of the Holiday season, The Springs Theatre Company is in the throes of rehearsals for its' inaugural Dinner Theatre presentation of "First Night", a deliriously funny romantic comedy set to perform on Sunday December 30th and Monday December 31st , New Year's Eve, at the Pagosa Lakes Clubhouse.

Taking place in a video rental store on New Year's Eve, the play centers around a young woman, Meredith O'Connor, played by D'Ann Artis, who returns to her hometown after serving in a convent since high school. Her goal…to pursue a relationship with a would-be boyfriend she hasn't seen in twenty years. Quirky fun ensues as Danny Fleming, played by Michael DeWinter, attempts to deal with this unexpected development in his otherwise non-descript life.

A fabulous three-course meal will set the stage at 6:30 each evening followed by the performance at 7:30. Dinner will begin with a baby field green salad, fresh rolls and butter. Served buffet style, the main course will tempt diners with Cranberry-Orange Chicken, two types of fresh vegetables, cheddar roasted potatoes, and an intermesso of warm fruit compote. Several delicacies, including a chocolate fountain, will be found at the dessert buffet during intermission. Iced tea and coffee will flow freely throughout the night with a cash bar offering beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages to those who choose.

Following Monday's performance the festivities will continue with live music, dancing, party hats, and favors culminating in a champagne toast to ring in the New Year at Midnight. Entertainment will be provided by John Graves and Company, featuring John Graves, Larry Elginer and Kim Graves.

Tickets are now available at The Plaid Pony (731-5262). Sunday's performance includes dinner and the show for $25.00 and Monday's performance includes dinner, the show, and the New Year's extras for $35.00 per person. Due to the popularity of Dinner Theatre and limited seating, the shows are expected to sell out quickly.
